Oh, and thanks

I am grateful to all of you who read here, you know, even if most of you are too wonder-struck to comment.  (The last three comments I received, and rejected, were thinly disguised ads for an editorial service, which is not exactly overwhelming, as compliments go.)  Keats may have found unheard melodies sweeter, but poems like to be read.  They told me so.

I love your poems. You're one of my favourite poets. I don't comment all the time, because I thought always saying: "I love this, Richard," or "this is great" sounded a little simple-headed. Besides, I'm a little low-brow and could really use some footnotes most of the time.

Despite all that though, like I said, you're one of my favourite poets.

Thanks, Karen. That makes 2 of us. It's a small, but exclusive, club. The dues are high, the benefits are small, and the rules are complex to the point of incomprehensibility. Other than that, it's swell.

How enticing.

I would probably say unwelcome things, if memory serves. "I rather like this last piece," sayeth one who generally lurks in silence.
